The steep-angled vessel allows efficient blending of batches as small as 10% of the maximum working capacity.

The ROSS Vertical Blender is designed for reliable and gentle mixing of friable solids, abrasive materials, and shear-sensitive products. It consists of a low-speed auger that orbits the periphery of a conical vessel while gently lifting material upward. The thorough agitation allows product from the top portions of the batch to cascade to the bottom while blending with material being drawn upwards by the auger. The steep-angled vessel allows efficient blending of batches as small as 10% of the maximum working capacity and enables quick discharge of the finished blend. Requiring no bearings or packing glands in the product zone, the ROSS design promotes 100% discharge and is easy to maintain while minimizing the risk of contamination. In addition to solid blends, wet applications such as flowable slurries and pastes are routinely mixed in the Vertical Blender. This versatile machine can be jacketed for heating or cooling with water, oil, or steam. When coupled with vacuum conditions, the continuous turnover of materials heated within the vessel leads to fast drying and cost-effective solvent recovery. The pictured Vertical Blender has a maximum capacity of 32 cubic feet. The design is ideal for processing large volumes where floor space is limited. Sizes range from lab scale to full production models.
